How PATH works, right now.
PATH is a voice-first assistant you can use to complete supported email and calendar tasks across Gmail, Outlook, Google Calendar, Outlook Calendar, iCloud Mail, and AOL Mail without navigating every screen by hand. You speak naturally, PATH helps understand the task, asks for confirmation when needed, and then helps complete the workflow.
Gmail
Inside Gmail, PATH can help users read unread messages, summarize long emails, search for old threads, draft new messages, and reply to or forward existing conversations by voice. Before sending or changing anything important, PATH reads back the key details so the user can confirm or make edits.
Google Calendar
Inside Google Calendar, PATH can help users manage their schedule by voice, from checking what is coming up to booking meetings, creating events, and changing details, without moving through a visual calendar interface step by step.
Outlook Mail
PATH supports Outlook and Microsoft 365 mailboxes with the same voice email workflows as Gmail: reading, summarizing, searching, drafting, replying, forwarding, and sending. PATH reads back key details before sending or changing anything important.
Outlook Calendar
PATH can help manage your Outlook calendar by voice, including checking upcoming events and creating or changing events, with the same confirmation step before meaningful changes.
iCloud Mail
PATH supports iCloud Mail (email only) using an Apple app-specific password that you create in your Apple Account. PATH can read, search, summarize, draft, reply to, and send iCloud Mail by voice. iCloud Calendar and Apple Contacts are not supported.
AOL Mail
PATH supports AOL Mail (email only) using an AOL app password that you create in your AOL Account Security settings. PATH can read, search, summarize, draft, reply to, and send AOL Mail by voice, with the same confirmation step before sending or changing anything important.
Good to know
- Signing in is separate from connecting a mailbox. "Continue with Apple," "Continue with Google," and "Continue with Outlook" create your Pathlight account; connecting a mailbox is a separate step you authorize afterward.
- iCloud Mail connects with an Apple app-specific password — not your normal Apple Account password. You create the app-specific password in your Apple Account and enter it in Pathlight. It connects iCloud Mail only; iCloud Calendar and Apple Contacts are not connected.
- AOL Mail connects with an AOL app password — not your normal AOL Account password. You create the app password in your AOL Account Security settings and enter it in Pathlight. It connects AOL Mail only; there is no AOL calendar integration.
- For Gmail and Outlook, PATH can also look up the people you ask about (for example, to resolve a recipient by name). For iCloud Mail and AOL Mail, PATH does not access contacts.

PATH was designed with blind and low-vision users from the beginning, not added onto a mainstream product later. We believe that by building with and for people who use voice and audio to interact with technology, we can build one of the most intuitive voice interfaces out there. Every workflow is shaped around the idea that the user should be able to understand, control, correct, and complete tasks without needing to rely on a visual interface.

Where we're going
The vision.
PATH is starting with Email and calendar because those are daily workflows where blind and low-vision users already feel real friction. Over time, PATH is becoming a voice-first action layer that can work across more apps and devices. The long-term goal is simple: a trusted assistant that helps people get things done with whatever device they are on, from their phone to their fridge.
